Deep Water Bay (6,500 sq.ft)

Brief

The owner wanted to re-arrange the layout to accommodate daily functions and add new elements to his home.

Challenge

The interior layout of the apartment was not well designed and several elements, such as the kitchen, closets, living room, did not flow well into each other giving the space a disorganized feel. The client also wanted to keep some existing fixtures and finishings in the home, so special care had to be made to integrate and not damage them in the final design.

Solution

To better organize the foorplan, an additional floor was built, clearing out some much-needed space in the dining and living areas. A traditional, predominantly gold Chinese interior design was made, based on the preserved apartment finishings. Large floor to ceiling windows were installed to increase the natural light and sense of space.
